In facilities where fire hazards are present—such as warehouses storing flammable liquids—insurance companies may require fire-rated modular offices. Panel Built’s 1-hour fire-rated wall panels are independently tested to meet ASTM Method E119-00a, enduring 60 minutes of open flame and a direct fire hose blast while maintaining structural integrity.

These panels are typically constructed with 26-gauge stucco-embossed steel, 5/8” Type X gypsum board, and a 2” mineral wool core. For a cleaner look, we also offer vinyl-covered gypsum exteriors upon request.

Additionally, ballistic-rated panels with a gypsum finish offer the appearance of a standard office while incorporating ballistic fiberglass for concealed protection—ideal for sensitive lab environments or testing facilities.

Panel Built’s standard 3” gypsum/gypsum wall panels with polystyrene core already offer a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 31—suitable for basic sound dampening. For facilities with higher noise levels, such as manufacturing plants, adding SoundStop board (STC 23) increases acoustic insulation and helps meet OSHA sound-level guidelines.

FRP panels are made from two .08” sheets of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with a 2.8” polystyrene core. These panels offer exceptional chemical resistance, durability, and cleanability, making them a top choice for restrooms, kitchens, hospitals, and classrooms.

The non-porous surface is easy to clean with mild detergents and water, making it ideal for sanitary or high-moisture environments.
