Custom Equipment Canopy

When U.S. Water Services Corporation needed a way to protect critical pump and treatment equipment at its Fort Myers, Florida facility, the structure had to provide reliable overhead coverage without restricting access to the system below.

Panel Built provided a custom freestanding canopy measuring approximately 29 feet long by 12 feet wide. The structure features a 10-foot clear height, structural steel framing, 6-inch square-tube columns, and white interlocking steel roof panels.

The canopy was designed around the facility’s existing equipment, concrete pads, piping, and nearby storage tank. Its open-sided layout keeps the pumps and related components accessible for operation and maintenance while providing protection from direct sun and rain.

Because the canopy is located in Florida, the structure was engineered for exterior use and designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 154 miles per hour. It also includes perimeter guttering and external downspouts to help direct water away from the covered area.

The completed canopy provides a durable, purpose-built covering for essential water system equipment while maintaining the access and visibility needed in an active utility environment.
